Higher Newham Public Consultation: Exhibition Design
The creative direction, design and production of the Higher Newham Farm & Village Public Consultation event held in Truro (28th - 31st May 2014) was undertaken by Dewsign. This event combines a 12m (36') visual and technical exhibition display outlining the project with integrated flat screen TV's and projectors with an audio soundscape creating an immersive farm experience. A 10m (30') wide panel displayed a panoramic photograph commissioned by Dewsign showing the retained views from the farmhouse bistro down to the River Fal. It was an important aspect to make visitors aware that such views would be retained. Set designers were commissioned to dress the shop frontage and interior which included an external relief depicting a farm scene with tractors and animals with the interior having live trees and hay bales providing the visitor with a real feel of the proposed project when inside the pop-up event.
Over the course of the Public consultation 630 people completed feedback questionnaires. Of those: 542 people said yes, they would support the project (86%), 38 people said no (6%) and 50 people (8%) chose not to comment either way.
It was great to see so much enthusiasm for the project.
